how often do you upgrade?

I tan in the base beds usually.... I'd say I upgrade to one of the "super" beds once every other week or so....

I only use upgrade beds now. The base beds were getting sorta pricey, so I decided to use the upgrade exclusively.

Once I get a base tan, I might upgrade to the next level bed every 3-4 visits or so. It all depends on how much money I have at the given time. I love the upgrade beds to death but I can't afford them on a regular basis

I like 'em.
They use a different type of light, I think its mercury vapour lights filtered through a cobalt lens. They give great colour but the tan you get is more cosmetic and doesn't protect you as much vs. a regular tanning bed when you go outdoors.
They're expensive but I like using them once in a blue moon.

As a salon owner I am curious, when you upgrade what are you looking for? On the surface that is a pretty easy question I suppose. However people are different. Are you looking for a bigger bed, a more comfortable bed, a darker tan, a shorter time, a longer time, etc etc.

Mostly a combination of the above but I like the bigger and wider beds. So that negates the need to constantly muck about with repositioning myself. Since the upgrade beds come with higher wattage bulbs and more bulbs to boot, that's a plus too. So to redap...
Bigger bed? Absolutely.
A more confortable bed? Yep.
A darker tan? Definitely.
Shorter time / longer time? Indifferent on that one.

BIGGER BEDDARKER TAN

I sort of assume that the tanner wants a darker tan above all else. I am adding 2 magnum level beds that will be just under my high pressure bed this off season. They will be 12 minute instead of the 20 for super beds and 24 for high pressure. I was sort of concerned about the shorter time if people would care. They will outan the supers and maybe even the HP

Once every other week I use a Super-10 (this is not an upgrade) - other than that, I always upgrade...except the occasional bronzing session (only an upgrade if you go 45 minutes.)

I upgrade about every 10 days or so to a super(sundash-2) or turbo(super sundash, ergo 300 super power) bed. When I upgrade, I also use a tingle lotion to get maximum results. Typically, I just tan in the base TanAmerica regular bed about 2 times a week and use a basic accelerator. This combination of base and upgrade beds, tingle and accelerator lotion, seems to be working really good for my maintaining and darkening my tan.

I haven't tanned in a base bed for years.Now that this salon by my house has changed owners,I will have to check out their base beds.They are getting 4 new ones with frosted glass(I posted about this elsewhere).They will be 20 minute beds.
