View Full Version : I\'m calling the manager tomorrow!

Tonight I went to my old salon because I had 12 minutes left, and I wanted to upgrade to the Mega (Starpower RS) bed...
Well, I about walked out! I sat there while 6, count them 6, employees were talking, one of the employee's kids was running top speed through the salon, they were cussing up a storm (I'm not a prude to cussing, but in front of customers is totally tacky!), they all had dinner out, eating in front of the customers, taking smoke breaks right at the front doors, and the one girl had on a mini-skirt that was so short you could see her butt-no joke!
Then, I watched as a customer was at the counter and one employee's cell phone rang and the employee told another employee to help the customer so she could answer her cell phone! OMG!
This is just nuts! I worked in management and if any of my employees acted like that IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS, I would reprimand them severely!

My in laws go to the exact same place, but early in the morning, and none of this goes on. I think it's high time that I let the manager know what a dump her place is at night! It's ridiculous!

Yea, my salon is mostly run by teens at night and it's always disorganized. So, I try to tan in the morning when the manager is there so I don't have any of those problems.

Like I said, I only went there to use up minutes and use the "better" bed. My new salon I go to is so much nicer...day and night!
I will post tomorrow how it went with the manager.

I would definitely complain.
I haven't had this problem in tanning salons much, but other places I have been to have been rife with employees who take care of their own business while you stand there waiting. Grr!

I would hope that I was notified if this was going on at our salons........although I am out and about 24/7 so noone know when I might pop in!!!!!!

Do let the manager know, managment needs to know what goes on when they are not there.

That's just terrible customer service! First of all, the customer is the number one priority, and secondly, with 6 employees you should never have total chaos in a business like that. I think that in some businesses employees learn how to act based on the example of the manager that oversees them, so i would really question the methods of the manager of this salon. I believe that every business owner can have an inept, lazy employee here and there thru no fault of their own, but when all the employees act this way it definatly reflects back onto the managment. Why would the salon have all those employees working there? It has to be because the manager isnt running the place adequatly, since it cant be because of their great customer service!!! I am so glad that you have found a new salon to tan at, because it sounds like that place is a complete and utter zoo!

6 employees and like 30 beds I think. And, they don't even act like they are working.
I've even been upset when I've asked about different lotions and they look at me like I'm wanting to kill their mother or something. I've even seen them advise customers on the totally wrong lotions for that person, but with the high sticker price. One girl came in, said it was her first time tanning, and they pushed some high intensity tingle on her!
Sounds like the owners on here understand and run better businesses than this shoddy place.
My new salon is great! That's why I switched. The owner is a sweetheart, takes time to talk to you, asks for customer input, and the place is totally clean and safe.
But, I'm still calling the manager (couldn't get a hold of one yesterday) and letting her know why I switched and all my beef with the place! The old place that is.

Boy Oh Boy! The manager was no help at all! I told her my concerns and she was just like "Yeah, I know it goes on" and in reference to the eating she said "Well, they are forced to do it since they don't get breaks and we have no place for them to eat". Supposedly she's having some "big meeting" with the night staff and is "laying down the law". Well, I thought I recognized her voice, as it was one of the employees the other night that was cussing!
I told her I switched salons and she was just like "sorry". No offers to get me back to their salon, nothing! Just more or less like "Oh well!"
I'm asking my mother in law to ask for a higher ups name since this call got me nowhere.

At least the manager just proved that you made the right decision to switch salons and not tan at that place anymore. I would tell the owner if you could too.

If you want to pursue it, I'd go straight to the owner. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't get any farther than you did with the manager, though. It sounds like one of the salons here. Where the employees don't know their *** from a hole in the ground. And the owner just doesn't care.
