View Full Version : How To Enhance Your Tan With Make-up

I'm going to try some of these make-up tips on my trip!

Eyes
Shimmering gold and bronze shadow play up every eye color, from the lightest blue to the deepest brown, and complement the tones of tanned skin. Apply color from lash lines to creases, then top with a thin line of deep chocolate eyeliner (smudge for a sexier look). Finish with a coat of black-brown mascara.

Cheeks
For day, apply a matte bronzer to your cheekbones, which will gently deepen your tan and give your cheeks contour. At night, go playful by applying bronzer, then blending a shimmering face cream onto your cheekbones and temples.

Lips
Glossy is the way to go! High-shine lips look sensuous next to tan skin. Try a clear gloss for the subtlest look; for more intense color, pick a bronze, peach or shimmering rose gloss. Wear without liner for the freshest look.

Yea, I use some of those tips too, they work pretty good. I also like to wear light pink lipstick when I'm really tan it looks awesome with my hair color and skin tone.

Sounds like my makeup routine already! I agree that those tips do enhance your tan though!

It helps sometimes to use shimmer on the brow bone to the crease.. esp if you have "racoon eyes"

I noticed that the lighter shimmery eyeshadows make a difference too. I was told that my eyes just kind of 'pop out at ya'. Don't know if that is good or bad. lol

you go girl, those are all great tips except i use shimmery all day all over. borghese at dillards and chanel has some of the best bronzing products to enhance your tan if that helps. the body shop has a great quad pot with 4 diff golds and they look incredible on. the whole thing is like 14.00? but it is lees than the 2 companies i gave you b/c u r looking at about25.-30.00 for there eyeshadows but they are awsome as well i promise u that.try the lipsticks and all there makeup till u know which you love the best. if u have a yve st. laurent make up studio they have the best all over makeup for you like a great lipstick that is like in 5 bronzed shades and they are 25.00 then a great powder for like 65.00 we dont have these here but i have to order mine from vegas every other month they know my colors and have a book. but now since i order all the time for ever they stopped charging me s&h. we have the chanel and borghese though. just some info 4 u hope u can use it.

i also think a sea green looks good against tan skin i use true colors and i put shimmer eyeshaodw on with 3 colors...i use a light/china white kinda lithgt yellow on the inner part, right next to it i blend a pink, and on the outside i put the sea green, it looks great on my skin, makes ya look exotic too i recomend it! kinda looks like a rainbow(of 3 colors)

I do this with my eyes sometimes. I bought some eyeshadow at Walmart that has 3 different color gold/bronzes in one little stack thingy and thats the only colors i'll wear on my eyes... but I usually just go without eyeshadow and put a lot of mascara & eyeliner on... cause my eyes are big and stick out anyways

I've never been real good at eye shadow application so I stick with fairly neutral and only use 2 shades

I use all different colored eye shadow. I like to match it with what color I'm wearing that day My favorites are a shimmery blue color and a light brown. My tan looks darker with a brownish/peachy blush too.

LOL, when I read this, I was like "What trip?" Then I looked at the date and figured out this was from summer. I went to North Texas to go outlet mall shopping for school clothes. It was a complete bust except I bought 2 books and 5 pairs of underwear lol.

Some good tips.

When I put make-up on, I dark eye-shadow on eyelids then brown slighly over onto the eyelid crease and particularly on the out corners of my eye to make them look larger and slanted/oblique.

The bronze-toned blush to the cheeks is very popular, even makes light-skinned/pale people look a little more tanned even if they're not!

One thing that isn't that common but I reckon works... green! And funnily enough, I bough green 2-tone eyeshadow today... dark and light. Yum.
