Does anyone know are the fans on a tanning bed supposed to blow air into the bed to cool the bulbs or are they supposed to vent the hot air out of the bed thus blowing air out of the bed? The reason I ask is I bought a used bed someone had painted it so had to take everything off the bed and I am wondering if they installed the fans backwards cause the lower acrylic gets very hot after 15 min (it is a 30 min bed) and if you put your hand over the fans air is blowing out. I hate to have my husband rip the bed apart if they are working in the proper manner.

The beds I use have always had a fan that blows into the bed. I suppose that all beds may be a little diff. so find out what bed you have and ask one of the pros.

it could work either way... blow into bed to cool off (although just air doesnt do much) or away from the bed to suck air out, which would make more sense

The top of the bed (canopy) fans suck the air out. The bed (bottom) sucks the air in.
