Brown Buns

Sometimes I feel like I take to long dressing and undressing. I have even had an attendant knock on the door and ask if I was ok. I timed myself and I take about 3min pre and post tan. Is this too long or is this place rushing people in and out to make more money?

no it is not too long, you have to get dressed

my salon provides the towel and they wipe the beds too. But I tend to wipe the beds b4 they come. Sorta like cleaning your house b4 the maid comes!

buns= take the time you need. if they book too close that is their fault. are you supposed to walk out half dressed?

heres some random questions:
does your salon provide a towel?
and does anyone else wipe down the bed after you're done??

yea my salon provides towels and yes i always wipe the bed even if i do not sweat.. since i rarely do sweat when i tan

My salon gives you 3 minutes b4 the tanning bed turns on so you better be quick! I've always been quick getting dressed post tan so that's not a problem. I really wish they would extend that to at least 5 minutes.
Bad etiquette would be like talking on the cell phone whilst laying in the bed long after the bed turned off. I've never heard of anybody doing anything of the sort at the salon I use but I'm sure it's happened elsewhere.

To answer SLPNGQT's question: My salon provides towwels but the salon employees clean the beds.

My salon lets us just push the button to start it when we're ready.... we can take as long as we want. But when I tan at SHORE's salon, you get 4 minutes. I get undressed and lotion up really well and I was still ready in 3...

WE CAN PUSH THE BUTTON IN THE ROOM; HOWEVER, THE TIMER WILL START IN 6 MIN NO MATTER WHAT. I THINK THEY DON'T PUSH THAT ISSUE WHEN THEY ARE NOT BUSY. BECAUSE I KNOW I'VE TAKEN LONGER THAN 6MIN AND GOTTEN MY WHOLE 20 MIN WORTH.

no it only starts when we push the button. I could take 15 minutes to get ready if I chose to do so...

I go to my salon prepared so it only takes 2 minutes to get in and 2 minutes to get out.

prepared, as in.... already having lotion on? doesn't it wipe off?

Also, lotion is more effective when applied right b4 a tanning session.

We get 3 minutes before and however much after...I've been pleading for extra before time (even just 2 minutes) but it's just not happening.

We have 3 minutes pre & post, the beds are on timers and start automatically. I'm pretty quick and usually beat the clock. And I always wipe off the bed w/ my towel afterwards.

We have unlimited time before and after.....really never been an issue with someone taking to long.

I don't think most people would take that long anyway. Most people are in a hurry to go somewhere else anyway.

The clients start the beds when they are ready, however the computer only gives three minutes after the bed shuts off before someone else could be put in that room. When it's really busy it's hard to tell if someone has already left so I make sure to tell everyone to lock the door just in case!

I have to look at the clock on the wall when I start and finish to make I get my full 20 min. If not, then I try to get in more quickly the next time.

i get 5 minnutes to get ready, as long as it takes to get dressed, and the do offer towels, and the sanatize the beds for us

I get 3 minutes pre and how ever long post but I usually don't take all that long to get dressed afterwards. All beds are controlled by the attendants at the front desk and as soon as you walk out, a bed cleaner goes back to pick up your card and clean your bed off. And yes, they do offer towels. I think there are about 3 in each room.

I usually ask for at least 5 minutes, and they don't have a problem with that. 3 minutes is just not enough, especially when they put the timer on as soon as you walk away from the desk! Grr!

I just push the button when I'm ready. There's no set time limit. I did tan at another salon that only gave you three minutes. I could never get ready before the bed came on. I think I take about four minutes.

The salon i used to go to had no limit whatsoever.... then the salon i tried yesterday gives people only 5 minutes to get ready. I had no prob getting ready in that amount of time, but it made me realize what a luxury having no time limit really is!!!

i always feel like i am taking too long but i only take about 7-8 mins to take clothes off and put my lotion on. in the tanning place i used to go to they would knock to ask if i was okay, that's annoying! why can't they just let you have some time to get ready?! haha

I just set the bed and get in when I am ready.. Take me 3-5 minutes. After I wipe the bed down with the towel and turn the radio off I guess I am one of those people who would clean before the maid came LOL

We get 3 minutes to lotion up , no time limit afterwards. they supply towels and clean the bed, but I usually wipe the bed afterwards myself out of habit.

At the salon I work at we give them 4 min and then the bed will start automatically....but if people need longer usually they will tell us and we give them a few extra minutes....when it comes to getting dressed after tanning, people usually take longer which is understandable....dont feel bad about it, you are a paying customer!!!

where i work the bed starts after 5 minutes. that's about enough time for me to get ready but there is no room for dawdling that's for sure. we have paper towels in the rooms for customers. i would rather have that though because some people leave a lake of sweat in the beds which always strikes me as odd because even before i worked there i always wiped mine up. i would hate to wash a mountain of sweaty towels everyday, that seems less sanitary and bleached towels would be hard on the skin i would think. speaking from experience people who take a reeeeeeally long time can back up the wait because we are walk-in's only and right now it is really busy. that kind of sucks because the people in the lobby just stare at us, especially if they are in a hurry. one girl took 50 minutes to do an orbit bed which is only 10 minutes. if there is no wait though we couldn't care less. alot of girls put their make-up in the room but we have a HUGE vanity they can use. i don't know how people can stand to be in the room for long anyway, it gets so hot after the beds have been ROARING all day.

but brown buns (i like your name) that is rude to knock after 3 minutes. that really shouldn't be even noticable, let alone reason to push someone out. you should say something. tanning isn't cheap and 3 minutes to get dressed and organized to leave is way normal, in fact a little fast to get going. perhaps you should ask them what they think is normal. i am sure they take at least that long if not longer themselves when they tan.

I agree that is rude to knock on the door after such a short amount of time. Maybe after 10 minutes or something. ?? I dunno. We get about 4-5 minutes before the bed turns on and unlimited after our tanning session is over.

Same here, the bed allows us 4 minutes to put our lotions on ect. and there isn't anything posted about how long you get afterwards. It usually takes me about 4 or 5 minutes by the time I wipe the bed down and get dressed after I am finished.

At my salon, the before and after tan is pretty much unlimited.

My salon doesn't have a time limit and I think I take about 4 or 5 pre tan and about 1 min after tan.. so 3 mins either way is not alot at all... I think that's actually average..

Val

My salon gives us 5 mintues to get ready. I find that in the winter when I have all my work clothes on thats not enough so when I ask for more they give me 9. One time I paid for an upgrade and they only gave me 4 mintues and I ended up loosing 4 minutes of tanning time while getting my lotion on. I was upset because it was only a 12 minute tan.

I think knocking on the door after 3 mintues is incredibly rude!

Oh and talking about bad tanning manners someone in a room next to me was smoking while I was tanning *yuck*

Another time a person in the room next to me had one of those walkie talkie phones on so I heard her whole conversation!

I don't have a time limit at my salon i could not imagine knocking on my clients door asking if everything is okay?...how rude...my clients know they gottta get in and get out for the next client..although i have had a few clients fall asleep which was alittle uncomfortable..because its odd to have to wake them up...
