many tanners don't realize how stressful tanning can be on your skin. You are losing hydration and protective oils produced by the skin...

Always tan with a good lotion! These products contain special ingredients that are designed to help develop your tan and to care for skin during the tanning process. Be sure to give skin a day off between sessions whenever possible to allow it to regenerate oils and to rehydrate. Moisturize skin regularly after tanning, showering, and before bed. Drink lots of water to keep everything hydrated. And exfoliate once a week to remove dead cells and reveal fresh skin underneath.

Take good care of your skin so it can look good for you!

thanks for the tips. I try to follow all of them. Sometimes I don't exfoliate as often as I should

it's hard to take any 'advice' from that one to heart since i do not think that using tanning bed lotions outside is 'taking care of your skin'

do not allow your skin to burn.... do not overexpose yourself in a tanning bed and always always always use SPF under your tanning lotions when you're outside. if you do burn, use an aloe gel to cool and calm the skin and do not tan again until all of the pink color has faded away. burned skin will not tan!

you do not have to burn in order to tan! sunburns cause tremendous damage to the skin.... tan in moderation, never ever burn, and moisturize religiously. be smart when tanning your skin so it can look wonderful for you in the years to come.
