After tanning years at a tanning salon, I've decided to purchase a bed myself. Has anyone had any experience with these beds?? There is only $300. difference between the 16 bulb and the 20 bulb bed, is 4 bulbs worth the cost? I also do not have a dedicated circuit, but the salesman said if everything on the circuit was turned off when I used the bed, it wouldn't be a problem, any advice?? It's a 110 volt unit if thats any help.

If you tanned in a salon for years, you're going to be dissapointed with with a 16 or 20 bulb bed. The salon beds usually have at least 28 to 32 bulbs for a standard bed. If you bought the 16 bulb bed, you will probably have zebra stripes running down your back. If you bought the 20 bulb bed, you'll have 4 less stripes. You need to know your bulbs too. The bulbs have different percentage UVA and UVB rays and will give you different tans. So it's best to stick with the salon. Unless you can get the bed for free.

Sherri, A dedicated circuit is used to protect the wiring in your home. House hold use breakers are either 15 or 20amp and the wiring will be reflected by the service breaker
Below is a table for Copper wiring
15 amperes for #14
20 amperes for #12
30 amperes for #10
50 amperes for #8
60 amperes for #6
80 amperes for #4 copper

Remember watts divided by volts = amps

When a ckt is overloaded the result is heat, excessive heat can become a fire

I hope this helps

I have my bed on a 20 ckt it is not dedicated per say but when using my tanning bed no outer service is being used on this ckt

Do you know what the AMP draw on your bed is?
