If you want to, give it a try...

You can 'layer' tanning products, and pull beautiful color...

We called it 'Double Deckering' but it soon became more than just 2 layers...

An Example...

Face...Illuminate by CT or Saving Face by DS
Body...A layer of Accomplice
A layer of Dark n' Dazed
And a layer of X Speed...

this is a Step 1 Layering project...

There are a Billion posibilities...

This works, because your skin will be completely hydrated, to the MAX...

Buy a couple of packettes...and see for yourself...

I used X-Power with Accomplice and Swedish Hemp Creme and pulled incredible color.

this sounds like a good way for me to waste all my lotion. Are you sure this works any better? have there been case studies done?

Greta, one reason I had done this is to clear out some of my lotions. I had too many and I wanted to get rid of some.

I do think it works.

Do not 'waste your lotions'

just try it out, and see what you think...
You can even just buy packettes for it...
Considering that many people do not use 'enough' lotion per session...I do not see it as wasting lotion, if you are happy with the results...
No, there have not been case studies....

okay, so in theory I could take all my near empty bottles, mix em up in a bowl or something, and apply that as layering then. good tip Melty! now I know what to do with all those half used lotions! I won't have to buy any for a little while anyway.

can I layer with a tingle lotion?

Some of my coworkers mix tingle lotions & they get dark from it.I haven't wanted to take the extra time to but that would be a good way to use up some of my lotions that are getting old.Thanx for the tip.I have seen them mix a plain tingle w/a bronzer tingle & have good results.

greta, I am with you on the "layering" thing. I never layer lotions. I don't understand how/why it could work and no one has ever given me a good explanation. My theory is that the different ingredients might interact and cause some kind of negative thing... It also seems like a waste of products, IMO. Why layer with a $70 lotion? Shouldn't it do the job on its own for that price?

I know a lot of people like to layer. I'm just not one of them. I don't get it.

yes, BUT the idea of mixing does seem like a good way to stretch your lotion, get another couple of uses out of several bottles and voila, you just bought yourself about half a bottle, saving yourself around $20 and that I DO like.alot of times I will not have enough left in a bottle for a whole "rubdown" and now I can save it until I am at that point with the next one, and mix em together. Melty, thank you for the money saving lotion tip....

in that case, I'd just use one kind on my arms and a different on my legs.... I wouldn't "mix" the lotions together.

why not?

I've layered lotions before, especially if i had a tingle that was too much for me. I still got a tingle, just not so unpleasant feeling.

Greta

if you mix it with a non tingle wouldn't you dilute the tingle therefore reducing the tingle to a milder one? Makes sense to me.....

Exactly! That's the whole purpose of it for me, and I didn't waste my money on a lotion that I couldn't use.

I'm a science girl and I just don't like the idea of combining lotions that may cancel certain properties in each other out.... chemicals reacting and all that jazz. Call me crazy... but I'm a freak about that stuff. hehehe

I haven't had any problems, and I think it works better when you layer!

there is not that much difference in ingredients from one brand to another. i don't think mixing would be a big problem.[ This Message was edited by: star on 2003-05-09 17:17 ]

Each lotion has it's own certain benefits; therefore, it seems logical that if you mix two really good lotions, you'll get the benefits of both.
