Hi, I'm new here as of today. Can't believe how much useful information you have here. Will begin tanning as of next week. I have only done it once before and got fairly good results (only did 1 month) I'm not spring chicken as most of your are. My question is last time I tanned I noticed blotches on my face, not sure if they may be age spots, (oh god makes me sound so old) Is there any way of evening out the color in my face, any tanning products I should be using to help with this, or am I doomed?

Hi - I also am not as young as most of the girls here and for the past couple of years, i've stopped tanning my face in the bed- I cover it with a towel and I have been using a sunless tanner on my face along with a brush on bronzer it really gives the face a great color - It's very natural looking and you don't have to worry about ageing your face.

Are there any sunless tanners for the face that you would recommend? I'm a little scared about applying sunless tanner to my face, streaking and that orangey color thing.

For a sunless I like Formulated Solutions Derm Renew Self Tanner with Vitasphere $21.95
You can also even out color with a bronzing pwder.. Check out Caltans face bronzing powder ...

I was using the vitaskin Dark by Banana Boat - It's a lotion so it goes on really easy, just make sure your face is washed and lightly exfoliated and dry it good and just rub it all over down into the neck to blend (just like a moisturizer) - The face is very easy to do. The color will develop over a few hours. I always do it at night so by morning its good and I just wash my face and throw a little bronzer blush and it looks great. The vitaskin is very inexpensive $5.00 or $6.00 and I've tried alot of different ones and I found the expensive ones weren't any different especially the face tends to fade alot faster so you have to do it every couple of days to keep the color.

Are you on birth control or estrogen therapy? This could cause (brown) splotchiness.
