The thing/reasoning behind it, in my opinion, is that is such a 'light' cleanser....
There is no salycilic acid in it, no other extracts or any of those ingredients....
and I find this product cleanses the skin really well for me...

most of the info I've found about dry skin recommends using Cetaphil b/c it's so gentle...

I love it! Even when I go on a trip I have to have it on me. I think I like it particularly because it's so light and you don't smell like you have lotion on. Whereas some of the lotions "specifically designed for tanners" are so heavy on the skin and have an overpowering scent.

I used the Cetaphil cleanser while I was using Differin and Retin A. I stopped using it about a year ago because I thought it was clogging my pores, even though I dont really think it was. I may try to use it again.

I tried it before and felt like I was washing my face with a moisturizer lotion. It just felt thick and gross. IMO

I use the lotion on my face because it's water based and it's really really gentle and it doesn't make you break out (well, supposedly, sometimes I think it does if I used too much). Having acne SUCKS. I love going to bed with 3 topical lotions on my face that make it burn like the fires of ****! Oh wait, no I don't...

Well, if the products and prescriptions that you are using are burning, you should talk to your dermo and then, he/she should figure out an alternate procedure...
I know that some products for acne have a tendency to burn and tingle, but if it is too much, your skin can be damaged...

This is reaaly great stuff! I know some people have asked about a good facial cleaner and this is one of them.
This is the first cleaner Ive been able to use on my face without drying my skin out. I didnt have to use any face lotion today [which is the main cause of my breakouts]

Awesome stuff. Its the only face wash I am able to use. I didnt like there moisturizer though. Way to heavy and thick it made my face slimy EW.

i LOVE it! and won't use ANYTHING else!!
I was using cetaphil a few months ago. I think it' a great cleanser for the price. I've switched to purity cleanser by philosophy.

my brother started using this when his doctor put him on accutane, and also the lotion because his skin got so dry w/ the medication. i started using the cleanser, and its made my skin clearer than w/ any other cleanser that ive used. since i started tannning again, ive been using the lotion on my face, and i luv it. no scent, (i hate scented lotion on my face and body!...only on my hands!) and i dont break out when im using it
