I tanned this morning in a bed (not the "biggest" one they have btw). I read the specs on the machine. It has 52 160 watt bulbs, and 4 1000 watt face bulbs. I was surprised at the face bulb wattage. Is this the norm? (I'm thinking I'm glad I put my feet under them instead of my face!)

I swear, if I had gotten more than 2 hours of sleep last night....Powersource maybe? It will come back to me later, I'm sure. There is a "big" bed there that has 20 face bulbs in the canopy (that I have used) and am wondering if those each have 1000 watts. If so, their biggest bed is cranking out about 22000 watts or so. Yikes!

1000 watt facials are typical in many tanning beds...
Some have 500 Watt bulbs...and some have the 1000 watt bulbs...
I know for a fact that some of the Dr. Mueller Orbit beds have 4-1000watt facial bulbs....

I checked the big bed out today (nice color I got too!). It has 4 1000 watt facial bulbs, 16 500 watt bulbs in the canopy also, plus 28 160 watt bulbs (I'm sorry LAMPS!) for a grand total of 16,480 watts of uv pumping out.

I'm from a small town, so I really don't have alot of options when choosing a tanning salon. So the one I'm at only has two kinds of beds. There are two with face tanners and one without. The one without is always booked up and I was wondering your feelings are on the face bulbs.
