My tattoo is now two weeks old this week and I was wondering how chlorine might affect it. I don't swim when I go to the pool with my daughter. I only get in and cool off for a few and then hop back out. As long as I keep lotion on it or maybe put vaseline on it before we go do you think it'll be okay?

umm...my tattoo artist told me not to use vaseline or anything oily or greasy on my tattoo while it was healing, cause it can draw out the ink. But at two weeks, you should be ok, right? I mean it’s not scabbed anywhere right? as long as there are NO scabs, your fine w/ whatever you do cause it's completely healed, just don't burn it!

They told me to use a & d ointment the first 3 or 4 days (but not too much cause as you said it could draw the ink out)and then just a non scented lotion after that. It has already peeled and looks good. I think I am going to just put my spf sunscreen chapstick on it since it will be covered by my suit anyways.
