What is the deciding factor that would make you refer your friends to a salon you freqent? Is it the wonderful customer service, the awesome tanning packages, or the low low prices? Or is it that you would just want your friends to go with you so you can chat and bond while waiting for a bed to be available?
I have been to a salon in lincoln that i wanted to go to with my sister, so we could have some 'sisterly tanning time' together, but i went by myself first, and was unhappy with the salon. I told her that i am glad she didnt go, and now we have to look for a new salon to visit together. The salon i was a patron of in washington i would recommend to anyone and everyone because i was that impressed with the customer service. While they didnt have that large of a lotion selection, and was a smaller size salon i felt that the owner's people skills made up for everything the salon was lacking in!

I really don't refer anyone unless they mention wanting to tan, then I just say, "I go to At the Beach." and I leave the rest up to them.

If someone wants to know where I got my tan, I tell them. Otherwise I don't really say much about it. Wish some salons would do referral gifts-like if I refer someone to my salon and they buy a package, I get something like a small discount. I would be wearing their t-shirts then!

We offer a free upgrade or 10% off full size lotion purchase. Works pretty well.

At The Palms, if someone refers a friend and they buy a package, we get a free tan (any bed)!

Tamar, if i could recieve a free upgrade or 10% off of lotions just to refer people to a salon that i really enjoy going to, i'd have people lined down the block!!! That's a really nice incentive to tell new people about your salon

mmclean, that's a great incentive for bringing in referrals. It seems like most people buy packages anyways when they are serious about tanning, so to recieve a free tan for that is great!

My salon offers free upgrades for referrals or $6 off the Matrix which is $15 to upgrade for a VIP member.
Also if the person you referred signed up for the VIP package you get $20 of VIP Bucks to use on lotion or upgrades.
I will be giving out cards all over the place.
They also have a card they stamp everytime you buy an upgrade or lotion sample. If you spend more than $5 you get 2 stamps. Fill the card with 12 stamps and another free upgrade or $6 off the Matrix again.

Brandibit, that sounds like a nice discount on the matrix for a referral! If i was going to that salon i'd be giving out cards everywhere, too! I really like the sound of the discounts and promos they offer.... Sounds like they really like to make the referring customer happy!

I referred my manager at work to my salon when her place closed down and she loves it. It's great cause now we have another thing to talk about. Alot of customers at my work also started going there cause they liked my color so much. When I'm at school though, I don't go to the same salon as most of my friends do because I don't like the place at all. I'd say the most important factor in whether or not I'd refer a salon is that they change their bulbs when they need to and their prices are reasonable.

If the salon I frequent would give me a tee shirt with their logo on it, they would never be able to handle the number of customers who would come pouring in! I've never been so dark in my life! But it is a good, exotic dark, not like Magda!

At my previous salon, if I referred anyone they got one week free tannning and I got $10 bonus bucks , that I could use on lotions, upgrades or mystic tans. The new salon doesn't have any programs like that, but I would really like one of their t-shirts! LOL

I wish I got something for referring people..... most of my students and field hockey/lacrosse players ask where I tan and I tell them.... and I get NOTHING in return. they show me no love for sending them dozens of clients.

That's not right Chica. You deserve better! By the way, who is Karen Walker?

My salon gives you a free week of unlimited tanning if you refer someone...but it's only one per customer, meaning you only get it for your first referral, nothing after that.
Oh, boobrandt...Karen Walker is a character on "Will & Grace"...she's the funny one who drinks a lot!

Njchica, that's too bad that you dont get any love from your salon.... maybe they think that they'd go out of business if they gave you a discount or a free tan each time you referred someone to them.... Im sure you refer quite a bit of business to them!

If customers bring in 5 new tanners and they buy 1 month unlimited that person get 1 month unlimited free. I always try to appreciate my customers.Sometimes new people don't tell the staff how they heard of the salon. I always try to ask but sometimes it's so busy that I even forget to ask. Sorry. Everyone does deserve a form of thank-you

If my salon offered something for referrals it would be great because I get all of my friends to go tanning with me

I don't know if I'd tell my "friends" where I tan or not. Not because I don't want the salon to do well, rather I know what a pain in the butt my friends can be as far as being unreasonably picky and mouthy about everything. I don't spend a lot of time with them anyway, so why would I want them someplace that offers me such peace, solitude and friendship as far as the staff goes? I guess I keep them because I have known them for so long, but they do get annoying and a little goes a very long way!

At Planet Beach, we offer a 5% discount for each new member that a client reffers, up to 25% at a time... or a week added to their membership.... OR a free upgraded session! Our members love to bring their friends and family to share in what they have found.....

I always reccommend my salon to anyone who mentions my tan in public (like a stranger...) because its the greatest salon ever and the lady is so sweet. although I don't tell my friends because then they would always want to "go tan together" and I don't have time to work out a time we can go together. lol. Plus some of my friends have really obnoxious friends, the last time I told my friend where I tanned she took one of her friends and they were being really loud and rude and I felt stupid because the owner knew I had reffered them... lol

Would you refer your salon?

No, people generally don't know I go to the salon, therefore I don't really refer anyone. I don't have many female friends here either, so that narrows it down!

For every new customer somebody refers, they earn $7.50 in TanDollars. TanDollars can be used toward packages, upgrades, lotions, etc.

I have only referred my boyfriend, which it's more convienent for us because we can carpool. Also the price for monthly unlimited is $24.88, and that'a good price for my boyfriend who really isn't interested in upgrading.
