I have been in this business for two years and my skin is in better condition now than it has ever been because I'm much more aware of how to take care of it (and great luck genetically). I've always been told I look much younger than I am.

Tamar - Sorry to say, but theres no way your skin is in better condition if you've been tanning for two years. All a tan is not healthy, whether you burn or not. It doesn't matter if you tan very very very slow and are very very very cautious, if you're tan, then your skin isn't in its "healthiest" state.

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize! You will tan better if you exfoliate & moisturize.

I've been using tanning beds for a long time, but I have stopped tanning my face because I was getting concerned about it also - So when I go in the bed I cover my face with a towel and I use a sunless tanner every other day and put on a little bronzer blush in the morning and it looks great. You still need to really moisturize cause st's can also be drying for the skin. Like Tamar said you learn so much more on how take care of your skin that it does make a difference. I exfoliate and drybrush my whole body and use moisturizers and my skin looks very healthy!!!
Before I had skin cancer I went to tanning beds and I looked disgusting. Too dark! Freckles and moles developed. Since Cancer I cannot lay out or go in a tanning bed and my skin has never been more smooth, hydrated and youthful. I guess I am lucky because I have really had to go through a lot to learn how to take care of my skin. My younger sister never went to tanning beds and her skin is beautiful! Now I have her hooked on sunless tanning which is awesome because she looks healthier with a tan.

Well, I guess you know me better than I do. Thanks.

Tamar - you tan in the beds, right? A TAN is not HEALTHY...a TAN is a sign of SKIN DAMAGE, so if you tan, then your SKIN ISNT HEALTHY. common sense....

Tanningiscrazy-Ever heard the saying "Do as I say, not as I do"? I respect your opinions and everyone is entitled to them. I'm not trying to fuel the fire, but I think you're contradicting yourself.

I am somewhat sensible (most of the time), but I am quite uncommon. Talk to me.

I agree Jenza, I joined this site to get advice from like minded people (other sunbed users)!

ok tanning is a natural process in defense of skin damage from over exposure... by producing pigment your body is protecing you from being over exposed.. overexposure which btw IS skin damage, if you burn at all ever you increase ur risk of skin cancer... but the risk of skin cancer is still minimal if you dont burn very often...

...IF you are genetically predisposed to it, and even then the relation is not clear. If UV light CAUSED cancer, then why do we not all have it?
