I have my base tan and am going to try a tingle lotion sample today. I don't want one with a bronzer and want a mild tingle. I am planning on using it on my legs, arms and shoulders and I was wondering how long the redness lasts that a tingle causes. Will it go away in a few hours or what?

It depends upon which tingle you use. Some last for an hour or so after tanning, others will make you red for the rest of the day. A good rule is that the stronger the tingle, the longer it lasts. (at least on me) Be sure to start with a MILD tingle. I don't care how much the girls at the salon talk up Safire or Bombshell, they are way too hot to start out with! And a bad tingle experience will put you off of them for a long time.
Also, if you are uncomfortable with the tingle, DO NOT try to take a shower to get rid of it. Showering will only make the sensation more intense.

I've never had one that really lasted for more than half an hour. Also, if you work out or exercise before hand this will make the tingle sensation greater and also make you redder. While this doesn't harm you, it might be more uncomfortable.

I have used tingle quite a bit and I really don't feel the tingle...but the redness stays with me for 3-4 hours. I think everyone is different!!!

I just got back from tanning and used Spiked Butter and didn't feel the tingle at all. Is that good or bad? I see the reddening effect but feel nothing. I stink though I did not like the smell or the consistency of it, but if the results turn out good then I won't complain. It just seemed so greasy and thick. I really wanted to try Ambrosia step 2 but they didn't have any samples of it and I didn't want to spend the money on a full size without trying it first. Any suggestions for a different mild tingle to try?

How long does the tingle last? For me, if its a light tigle, maybe 20 minutes. For a hot tingle, up to an hour. If it's hot outside or inside your car, or whatever, it will make the tingle much hotter and you redder.

The redness ended up being gone within 2 hours And I felt no tingle what so ever.

30 min to an hour is how long most tingle(the sensation) lasts. The redness lasts a long time

I used Swedish Beauty Zinger for the first time today. It was a mild tingle, I felt it for 30 minutes but the redness lasted 3-4 hours. It was waaaaaay better than the last tingle I tried - SB Sinful, I tingled for over 2 hours and thought my legs were seriously going to fry off. But then again, I'm not big on the idea of really hot tingles, I just couldn't do that to myself on purpose!

Maybe I am not sensitive to the milder tingles then since I didn't feel any heat or anything. I had used Spiked Butter with a tingle factor of 5. Does that mean I should go to something stronger since I didn't feel it or stay with the level I used since it did produce the redness like it should?

if you like the "tingling sensation", then you would need to bump up to a higher tingle!

One thing to remember about tingles is that even if you aren't feeling the tingle affect after an hour or so you can still transfer it to others and it will still reactivate in water. I have transferred tingle lotion onto my daughter up to 5 hours after tanning by just holding hands with her her wrist was all red!

I caused my son when he was 2 to get all red and itchy from the transfer of my Goddess when I gave him a bath. I will never forget it. He was crying b/c it was burning him. I felt soooooooooo bad!!!!! So, now even though he is 5, I still shower myself before I touch him. Water reactivates the tingle!
