I used Mystic and wasn't happy about it. I got darker so it worked but it also stained my nails even though I used barrier cream and wiped myself off very well when I got out. Also, I don't like having my face as tan as my body and I could not figure a way around that when using the Mystic. I am curious about the Hollywood tan. Supposedly, it's better. I'll come back and let you know if/when I try it. It's expensive though. Where I live it's $25 a session.

I have used MagicTan twice and I loved it. I can't belive how many people commented on my tan (as I have strawberry-blond hair and freckles). I tried Mystic once and got a streak down my leg from the bronzer (which did go away after a shower).

Spike, finally someone who will speak up and agrees with me on the MagicTan. I think this machine is the absolute best machine they have come out with yet!!! I love this machine, I believe it's the most perfect thing since sliced bread!!!! I just received an e-mail from a tanner at my salon saying she loved my beds so much that she never entertained the thought of the sunless booth. However, after not being able to tan for over a week and a having a wedding to be at Sunday ... she thought what the heck. She went on and on and on about the booth ... I am so exstatic to see more and more people are using the booth and loving it. I and others think it is a much darker, smoother and natural looking tan than all the others. I am so glad I bought this machine ... it has already paid for itself with all the tanners we have loving it! Thanks spike for finally being one of many to speak up about this fantastic machine ... life is good!![ This Message was edited by: UCANTAN2 on 2003-08-09 09:54 ]

We only have one spray-on tanning salon, and it's way too far away for me to go there. I usually just use Neutrogena Instant Bronzing Sunless Tanning if I want color FAST. I'd really love to start "fake" tanning in a salon though, I think it'd be interesting, and probably less worrisome. Anything that you have to wear goggles for kind of turns me off on the idea.

I posted this on the Hollywood Tan disscusion also. Thought it would be appropriate for this board too.
I just tried the Hollywood last week. I was not impressed with the result. There wasn't much color. I said something to the girl working the Salon and she said I should see some color after 4 to 5 hours. Well it never happened. I have seen this same result with the Mystic. The Magictan, as far as I'm concerned has these two beat. Not only will you see a noticable difference, but you'll see a great color.

I have just had my second child and so i discovered spray on tanning during my pregnancy as i didnt want to use the uv sunbeds. I tried a few but with limited streaky success to be honest!! I recently came across Spray-Sun.com and thought i would give it a try and i was very impressed with the results- no streaks!! and a natural looking tan almost immediately. I would reccomend you give it a go.

I do Mystic Tan once a week. Good all over cover and dark. The Magic Tan is nice and brown, but to light. I think they have more then one level. I'm sure mine was a level 1. Level 2 would of been better. The Sun Spritz color wise was the same as Magic Tan, to light.

There have been alot of problems with Hollywood Tan from what I've heard (i.e. lack of color, streaking, etc.) I have friends that swear by Mystic though & their color is great. I am just too scared of streaking or turning too orangy......

After having tried all of the spray ons, I choose MagicTan. The color is not too light, SOCALTAN, the amount of solution that gets sprayed on you can be adjusted. You can be as dark or as light as you choose. I say try it again before you make that conclusion because if that is the only reason you think Mystic is better, then Magic has them beat hands down.

I think I will go with the Magic Tan. There aren't any close to me. So maybe I will start a salon with the spray booth first, then add a few tanning beds.

There are four main manufacturers of sunless tanning spray booths in the US. Here are their websites and my opinion. There's also lots of discussion about these booths and air brush tanning on www.sunless.com.
Mist-On Tan www.mist-on.com
darkest, most uniform, longest lasting tan, most expensive booth
Mystic Tan www.mystictan.com
most popular, best known, watch out for hands and feet, 2nd longest tan
Magic Tan www.magictancorp.com
springing up everywhere, tan is uniform but light, what's with www.magictanlegal.com
Hollywood Tan www.hollywoodtan.com
aka Sun Spritz, Summer Image, etc., light and very spotty tan, must dance while being sprayed
ETS offered the Sunless Express for a while. For whatever reason, that booth is history.

Thanks for the info. I have checked out and tried Mystic, Sun Spritz, and Magic, Can't buy Mystic with out having tanning bed, they only sell to salons. Sun Spritz is just too weird jumping around. I think the Magic Tan is the one I will buy.

I have a friend in Nevada who tried it out and said the machine was really large and unattractive and the coverage was not so good. He said the solution was ok though.

hey, i now use spray on tan a bit... i was using the beds but had huge eye problems.. i have tried 2 different ones. i haven't seen them talked about on here. one is fantasy tan and sunfx . i was really dark with fantasy but it didn't look natural and it made a real mess of my hands and feet. the sunfx i have just started using. it costs more but its smooth, not as dark but its more brown than orange. anyone know of these products?

I tried hollywood tans, spray on. I liked how natural it looked & I looked really dark. But the only thing that sux is, it makes you look whiter after it wears away, so I don't do spray on anymore. Its good if you need to get tan really fast, for like a prom or something but other than that, it wasn't worth the 50.00 I payed =/.
