dose anyone give themselvs pedicures? I usually go to my salon once every few months to have one, but I spent to much $$ on tanning lotion and I have to put this on the back burner for awhile. Now I’m going into shock & withdrawal. I don’t know what they use as foot soak, but I’ve soaked & scrubbed and I just can’t get my feet as silky smooth as they can. do any of u have any suggestions for what I could use?

Have you looked into one of those parafin wax things? Those soften feet and hands really well!

after seeing on the news about infections people get from improperly cleaned pedicure basins at salons i do not get them there anymore. i bought a pedicure set made by tweezerman. it comes with toenail clippers the foamy things to stick between toes, a callous shaver, a cheesegrater lookin thingy with a footfile on the other side and a toe nail file. i use it all the time. and ihave a manicure set with all the different attachments that i use to get my toenails lookin good then i paint them myself. it's cheaper than going to the salon and i don't have to worry about getting any infections. cus after seeing that news piece if i were to get a pedicure i'd make them get the bleach out and a tooth brush and i'd make them take those things apart and scrub the heck out of them just to make sure they were clean. (also get a pumice stone and keep it in the shower and use it when you shower)

If you want good stuff for home pedicures, do yourself a favor and get the True Blue Spa stuff from Bath and Body Works. I've used the foot scrub and the shea butter foot lotion and my feet are thanking me! I also got the foot file to rub out my callouses, and my feet are so much softer! I love Bath and Body Works!

I love Bath and Body Works too!
I do have to also add The Body Shop stuff as a recommendation. I just bought the whole footcare set, and my feet feel SO good when I use it all. They are also starting a Body Shop at Home thing. I had one a few weeks ago and earned all kinds of cool stuff! I did the Foot Fun party. They don't have mineral oil in their products for those who are concerned with that. At least none I have found so far.

I have my nail tech license, but I don't do nails anymore. Get a good foot bath (they have nice ones by Homemedics for like $30) and go to your local beauty supply (Sally Beauty is open to the public) & you can find everything there to give yourself a pedicure. I would recommend getting a "sloughing" lotion because it takes all the dead skin off your feet & feels wonderful. Also get a foot file & peppermint cooling spray for afterwards. I give myself a pedicure all the time!

TRIVERA...I love the Body Shop too! Hey, can you PM me on how to do the Body Shop at Home thing? Is it like selling their products with home parties? Curious, so PM me please!

hey thanks guys, I have most of the 'tools' for quick fixups at home, but the salon products are just addicting. I usually get the paraffin wax dips at the salon (love em!) & have seen the home units you can buy - kinda expensive, but if I used it all the time, it would probably pay itself back. I'm sure they us a 'sloughing' foot soak, cause they hardly have to scrub or file me, everythings already come off! I will have to find that kind of soak product, that's exactly what I want, I just didn't have a clue what it was called, thanks Kristy!

oh yeah, last time I had a pedicure, I really watched to see what she was doing (it was really hard cause I'm always so relaxed I could fall asleep) and right before she put the polish on, she took a really fine nail file and gently buffed the top of my nails, I asked her why & she said it makes the polish stick better & smooths out any ridges. So, that’s why when I paint my nails, it always comes off like the next day! Just a tip 4 y’all.

I like to give myself a pedicure at home, I too love the BBW products and have used some of the pedicure products they sell at Sally's . I have a peppermint gel that really helps my feet feel better after I have stood on them all day.

Several people were wondering about the Body Shop at home parties. I just went to their website and requested someone contact me, and a consultant called me to set it up.
