View Full Version : Tingles and Blotches?

I started using a tingle a few days ago (high maintenance) and have noticed there are places on my arms that do not react to the tingle (i.e. don't turn red or tingle) and these areas are lighter than the rest of my skin when the redness fades. I like the tingle because of the color I'm getting, but can't handle the difference in color. Is there a way to fix it or get around it?

I started to use a new tingle lotion (level 5) and after waiting atleast three hours after the tan, i showered. Next thing I know the tingle starts all over in the shower and it is stronger than in the bed. It was HORRIBLE. I have used level 7 before and didn;t have that problem. Can any one give me any insite about this?

It could possibly a tinea versicolor problem. Kind of a fungus (like ringworm). Try using a dandruff shampoo on the parts of your body that you are seeing blotches and see if it helps. I have a spot that doesn't react to the tingle, and it is where I had righworm a long time ago.

I agree with Lav. Maybe try the dandruff shampoo for a few days and see if it helps.

Do you have this same problem when you DON'T use a tingle lotion?

Hard to say, are the lotions from the same company? One company's level 5 may be another's 10. And I would always take the coolest shower you can stand after using tingle, in order to not reactivate it. (Try sticking your feet in hot tub like I did one night: Yow!)

Nope, it only happened after using the tingle. It was like I put the lotion on, noticed when I got out of the bed there were areas that didn't react, then after the lotion wore off, those areas were lighter than the rest.

Try a nontingle and see what happens. If you see similar results, my guess would be tinea versicolor (use Selsun Blue as body wash for a week or two).
Now a tingle will look splotchy after, most people think they didn't apply evenly. But the splotchiness (and redness) will generally disappear simultaneously.

same here, it only happens when I use a tingle. I just don't use tingles there. When I use a plain browning lotion, you can't see any blotches or differance in color, so that's what I use. Dchan, try using a bronzer w/o tingle & that might help hide your lighter spots, that's what I did after using tingle & was left blotchy.

and I don't think it's tinea versicolor because I tan evenly on my upper arms - EXCEPT when I use a tingle.

Same with me Jayell79, I've been using X Power and Swedish Hemp Creme and I saw no blotches with those, only on the first day I used the tingle.

im always blotchy when i use a tingle, but never when im just using a browning lotion, when the redness goes awayim an even color though so i have no probs being blotchy

dchan & I seem to be alittle different from everyone else, when we use tingle on our arms there are places that do not tingle, and because they don't tingle, they don't get as tan as the places that do tingle. If I don't use tingle you can not see these spots.
