Do the salons you all tan at offer you a free first tan?We don't now but the last owner did.I'd say that's all we had in half of our data base.Tanners that had come in for just the freebie

nope mine doesn't.... it would never even occur to me to walk in somewhere and expect to tan for free the first time. that's like walking into a restaurant and asking for your first meal to be free to see if you like it.

Most of the salons in this area offer it.It's alot of work for the employees during the busy season. You could get your base tan for free if you were new to this area.Lol!

When the new location of the chain that i tan with opened up every customer that walked in the door got a week of tanning for free. i have never seen a salon so crowded in all my life there was sometimes a two hour wait for a bed. I went over there (since my friend is the manager) and most people were tanning in the base beds due to lack of color) so when i tanned i usually go in there right away, but then i'd end up staying and helping clean beds or giving tours to new customers explaining the membership and all that jazz. i had so much fun and helped sell ALOT of lotion.

the other tanner I wne to did, but this one doesn't. And I didn't ask, I went to go tanning and since I was a first time customer they gave me first visit free plus 30% off first pkg and daughter got 30 min free for referring even though she'd never been, she went because her boyfriend bought her a pkg for a gift for some holiday. We switched to another tanner which doesn't give first visit free but gives free visit for referring someone else to them. Sounds like not as good of a deal but the second place although it doesn't give as many free visits gives better color, and the ladies there are so much nicer and actually interact and suggest lotions, they also have testers for low cost.

Ohhhh, and they are honest and will tell you if a lotion isn't that great, or another lotion is better.

Mine did (and I took advantage of it) but I don't know if they still do or not since they've been there awhile.
Bad comparison coming...
This is similar to what some drug sellers do to hook new users. Give them a small freebie and they usually come back. LoL
I'm not saying that one can get addicted to tanning but I was just pointing out the similarities.
It worked for me

my salon offered first 3 tans for a one time payment of 3 bucks, u had to be a new customer and u had to use it in a week (they encourage u to get a bit of a base to that u want to come back) it worked for me, the salon is great, has a no appointment system and has 2 mystic tans, 2 royal sun super 2 beds and 2 royal sun mega beds, and 2 standups as well as 10 base beds, they are really well done... there arent many salons in my town so sometimes even though they have sucha huge amount of beds u still wait like 30 mins...

My salon offers the first visit free to new clients. Out of all the salons I've been to they are the only ones that do that.

My salon offers lots of great deals, but no free tans. they gave me a discount card that lets me buy 6 base bed sessions for $10. the base beds are high watt too. I tan for 12 minutes (15 min max) and maintain great color. This is the best deal I have ever found. clean salon too. I once found a coupon in a phone book that gave me a lotion sample and a half price session in a HP. I think the bed was a Orbit.

Most of the salons I've been to either gave me a discount or a free tan. I like it because if I'm not satisfied with cleanliness or something, I'm not out 5 bucks.

Duck knows the electric company doesn't hand out free electric, employees don't work for free, rent is never free......Duck wonders why a tan should be?

I've never expected free things from my salon which is good since I never get them... I've tanned twice on my birthday in the past 4 years and I got a free sample on those 2 days. that's it.

Duck believes in taking care of the really good customers. New customers have not earned the freebies yet.
Duck offers 3 Tans for $9, good on base beds, upgrade for a fee, has to be used within 10 days. For new customers only.

Alot of salons around here will let new people tan the first time free. The one I am at has 3 free tans that must be used in the first week. I never used the free tans , I just paid the first time and tanned.

It is a real waste of space on the computer letting all new clients tan free their first time. Half of those people never come back which is why a lot of salons don't offer it. The free tan on your birthday your birthday is a great idea and we do that at the salon I work at. It's like an added birthday bonus and people love hearing that the tan is on us on their special day.
