I needed a non scented lotion to put on my tattoo as it was healing so I got Aveeno. It is fragrance free and also doesn't contain Mineral Oil. I kind of like the fact that since it is fragrance free it doesn't interfere with the smell of my shower gel or a body spray when I use one. Anyone else used this lotion?

I never used it, but to keep my tattoo moist, I always used Bag Balm. That stuff is good too for the pooches since it moisturizes their pads on their paws!

Pardon my tattoo ignorance, but do they get dry all the time? Or is it from tanning??

I just got the tattoo last Tuesday (10th) and it is through the peeling stage and now needs to be kept moisturized till it is completely healed. You're supposed to use a fragrance-free lotion on it. It isn't dry from tanning because I make sure it is covered by a triple folded towel right now since it is in the healing stages. After that you still don't want to expose it to sunlight because it can fade it so I will keep an spf of 45 or 50 on it.

I've had mine for over 6 years (had it re-inked 3 yrs. ago) and it still itches really bad if I don't put lotion on it, when I tan or not. From everyone I've talked to, that's not normal. The itch is probably just dry skin, but I never had that problem before. And its right in the middle of my upper back, so I can't really reach it by myself.

A tatoo itches at first because if you don't keep it moisturized it scabs and that's what itches (that's my my tatoo-girl told me). After it heals is should be no different than your normal skin. After mine healed it's never itched since. Mine never actually really itched even at first because I kept A&D ointment on it so much.
I've never used Aveeno but everyone I know who does swears by it. My mother in law's Dr actually recommended it to her.

Mine has itched very little. It has completely peeled and is to the shiny stage right now. If it does happen to itch a little I just pat it and it goes away and then I put some more lotion on it.

I also used A&D ointment on my tattoo's to keep them moist. It works very well, and helps to keep the moisture in while bathing.

I used the A & D for the first 4 days and then switched to the Aveeno.

My daughter has eczema so we have to use Aveeno products at my house including the shower gel and lotions. So, I love them and she hasnt had flair ups of eczema. It was highly recommended by her dermatologist.

I love aveeno lotion also...very good stuff. My sister also has eczema, and it was recomended to hr by her dermatologist as well....and she refuses to try anything else since ...she loves the stuff! I have a love for all kinds of lotions though ...the ones that work that is lol. I aggree, the fact that this one doesnt smell is great for when I dont want a clashing smell with my body spray.
