I keep reading and hearing about the damage that UV radiation causes to our hair. I am tanaholic/tanorexic and I have not noticed any difference in either the color or the texture of my hair. I have seen those shower cap looking things that protect your hair...
Anyone have hair problems as a result of tanning?

The only thing I have noticed is my hair getting lighter. I get highlights and she using bleach. I dont know if it has anything to do with the tanning bed or not. My hair feels the same also.

My hair doesnt feel any different from tanning, but boy oh boy is it so much lighter!!! My hair is normally med. to dark brown (it's been so long since i knew what my 'real' color is) and i dyed it light with lots and lots of blond highlights. Well my hair ended up turning light butter blond with plat. highlights. Too light for my coloring! So i just had to dye it light brown...... I think that im definately going to have to do somthing more to protect it when i tan!

I apply John Frieda's Life Preserver oil to my hair every night before bed. It keeps it soft, shiny, and preserves my color.

I may have to try this. Can I find it at a salon or is it available in a dept. store?

John Frieda makes Life Preserver. It's a coconut scented oil that conditions while laying out in the sun, tanning bed, or blow-drying. I think it also has SPF for your hair... www.johnfrieda.com I think it's from the Beach Blonde line.

I bought mine at Target but they put it all on clearance... I'm going to have to check another drugstore around here for it because I love it.
