When you go to the salon do you prefer listening to music or would u rather just zone out into the white noise of the tanning bed.

njchica

I keep the fan on low, and the music goes throughout the whole salon (so i barely can hear it once the beds on), then i just zone out into the peaceful noise of the bed

I like to meditate while tanning.Nothing elaborate-just focus on my breathing

definitely music. I also like to sing along on occasion so I'm sure the employees at the salon get a big laugh out of it!

does your salon have satillite radio? or do u get radio stations. my salon has radio stations programmed and it never fails when i get in the bed there were always 15 mins of commercials lol so i started bringing my MP3 player and jammin to music while i tanned (i even have tanning music play lists lol)

Summers Tan

I used to bring my own cassette of jazz music with a subliminal "love to exercise" message to get me motivated.

Our beds are equipped with am/fm/cd stereos. I don't like to tan at the same time as my best friend, Laurie...'cause she taps her fingernails the whole 20 minutes!!!!!

I prefer the drone of the tanning bed's fans. It's a good time to relax and not think of anything important / stressful. I can always blast me ears off once I get home
The salon I frequent has 3 choices: pop, country, or silence. I prefer the silence...err drone of the fans

Tonight I had to listen to nascar live. For 20 minutes. I thought it was a commercial when I got in the bed. Joe Nemachek(sp) is not relaxing. Neither are Jeff Green and Kevin Harvick(sp).

Of course I listen to music! At my salon, each room has it's own cd player/radio. The salon usually has some music playing but once I put my cd in and start jamming to Justin Timberlake (lol), I can't hear it anymore.

Depends on the day I'm having and the time of day. On an Omega-type bed, I prefer just white noise, and if I'm really tired, I can almost sleep. But sometimes, I like to have the tunes cranked up!

yesterday they had HOT 97.1 which is just the worst hip-hop station on both of our station choices. I turned the music off and just slept.

My new salon has a CD player/tape player/radio thing which is my most favorite thing about this salon. I HATE listening to the radio but I can't have silence especially at this place, I'm still not used to the cracking of the acryllics. I always bring in my new Hanson CD. But it makes me mad when other people turn the bass on really high with their rap CD's and it drones out my Hanson

My reg. salon doesn't have music in the rooms and at first I really missed it but I've gotten used to it and usually doze off during the 20 mins. I would have to have music in a stand-up or I would be really bored!!!

It depends, in a stand up I have to have music, but if I am in a bed I just like to relax and zone out maybe get in a 20 min nap. Plus my salon just has alarm clock radios in each room, except the stand ups and they are wired to the salon music.

my salon has a speaker at your head tuned to satellite radio most of the time its top 40 or pop stuff which i like so i usually enjoys, esp if i get in during a good song, i crank it... sometimes it feels like the bed is vibrating from how loud i have it
lol

SexyKitty

my salon has seperate radio/cd players in each room on a small side table... i dont use it because i dont have enough time to set it up... i only have three minutes to get ready even though they give me more if i need it... i bring my iPod with me and listen to a bunch of songs from the OC and occasionally my club mix... when i have the OC songs playing i make sure my mp3 player is set to "echo" so it sounds as if it is echoing through the whole bed... incase you dont know, most of the music is accoustic, so having it echo makes it all the better! i have the "bass" turned on for the dance mix which i try not to use because i feel like dancing, and you cant dance in the bed...

summergirl
05-14-2004, 04:06 PM
music, all the way! i sing along w/ them but you cant hear me cause every room has the radio up so loud and the sound of the bed drowns it out

my salon has sat. radio pumping straight into the beds, and it pretty much depends on who is working what kind of music it is. usually its young girls so its top 40 stuff, which is fun to listen to. one of the girls likes country, though, which i don't listen to, but i actually found myself liking some of the songs that i heard. ahh, tanning can be so enlightening!

I'm a music person, my salon has preprogrammed music with 3 channels to choose from...normally Top 40, Country and Rock.

at my salon, its whatever is playing over the speakers, no individual radios. sometimes its a pop/rock station, sometimes the SO has older songs playing, sometimes a dance mix cd. ( i wish MY salon played country!)

No music for me.. The atmosphere at the salon i tan it is very relaxing. She has pottpouri(spelled it wrong :/ ), plants in the waiting room with big comfy chairs, and the whole place is cool and nice smelling. I love it That's a big reason why i left my other place because people were talking loud, singing, the door was dinging, beds were hot.. not my idea of relaxing. I wished the owners there would think of the people who like to tan for relaxtion and ask people to not be so loud.

This is an old thread!! The first salon I ever went to the owner LOVED country. And that's all you ever heard piped thru the tubes. So I was thankful for the sounds of the fans (not a super huge fan of it)

we have reg lil boomboxes in the room, radio only though. the cassette tapes might work, but uhh who has those anymore ??.... i wish we had cd players that would be nice. my old salon had like 5 preset stations you could listen to but they all sucked so i would bring in my mp3 player.

Definitely music, it helps to pass the time. I went in a magic a couple weeks ago for 15 minutes and forgot to pick my station so I had no music and dang near fell asleep.

I don't use the radio anymore, first of all cause I use standups (9 mins max) which is a short session to bother with music. If I use a power bed i guess I could use some music, but still the session is just 12 mins, just less trouble to get in and get out without headphones.

We have XM satelite radio at our salon and it goes though the whole salon. I was wondering those with XM radio, what stations do you like to listen too. I like 16 (country), 40 (deep tracks), 46 (Classic Rock) and 101 (reggie). Sometimes we also put on 20. What's yours?

Definitely with music. We have boomboxes in each room. I normally just put in on our local country station, but I was jammin in the stand up to some Eminem on Thursday.
