i downgraded to a weaker bed today and trusted the girls suggestion on how long ot go in for, and now im paying for it... im burnt on my face and chest and a bit on my arms... how long does it take for a tanning bed burn to go away?

i'd probably wait til the end of the week to tan again but if the pinkness lasts more than tomorrow u might want to wait til sunday to tan again

give it plenty of time for the pinkness to go away. use CalTan's insurance or aloe vera gel, moisturize well, and do not tan until all of the redness goes away.

well if u are going into the bed u burned in go in for less time... but if u aren't burning in the higher bed at the time u are going for then keepwith that for a few more sessions

Wait until all evidence of the burn goes away and if you return to the same bed, definitely lower your time. The recover time for a burn is the same, indoors or out.
Shame on your salon for allowing this to happen.

That's too bad that that had to happen to you..... Hopefully your burn heals up real fast!

It's good that your skin is back to normal, aside from you feeling that you look pale. That's the worst when you burn in a tanning salon, due to someone else's poor judgement. Hopefully you'll never have to go through that kind of experience again.....

My bet is that this bed had more uvb ( burning rays). I know when I switched from the 10 min. bed to the 20 min. bed I would usually burn and was told it was because the bulbs in the 20 had more burning rays. Take it easy and take care of your skin and you'll be back at it again soon

I too have found that bulbs with more of the 'burning rays' (as laurel put it) make me more prone to burning, even if i go in a bed with those bulbs for a shorter amount of time. I have to be really careful about what beds i go in, and always ask if the salon has just put brand new bulbs in.
