My salon is starting to wonder about me...I keep going in and asking for lotions either they don't have, or don't have a clue about! Yesterday it was SB Swedish Hemp Creme. All they said was "we have Frosted Hemp". Then they looked at me all weird. Maybe this is my way at getting to them before I switch salons.

LOL, I did the same thing the other day. I asked for Swedish Hemp Creme and today I asked for Brown Envy. They are probably wondering why we are asking for specific lotions.

Laurel, I think my salon thinks I'm pulling these lotions names outta my a... This is why I like this forum. I'm gaining so much information and making better decisions about tanning, salons, etc.

you can always ask if they'll special order it for you.... sometimes YOU teach them things when you ask request certain lotions.

I told them today when I bought Mojo that I have gotten just as good of results using the EB line as I have the more expensive CT line. They kinda looked at me funny. lol

The ones I have been to are usually friendly, and like to hear input from me as long as it is not strongly negative about a product they carry. If they suggest something that I don't like (or think really sux), I usually will just say that it didn't work for me..
I have "educated" a shop owner(!) and a handful of employees about Power Shots. A few places I have called seem irritated that I tell them that I am NOT looking for SB and Italian Thunderbolt.

same as my salon.. i hate how the one girl doesnt seem very welcoming while the other girl is great... with the onei feel like the time is punched into the puter and im ushered to my room, where as i can actually ask about lotions from the other girl, oh well the helpful one will get my commission

Chica...I've tried to ask to special order lotions and the girls I deal with look at me like I'm a freak and say "No". I just keep getting them from "other sources" and talk up all the recommendations from here.

i only buy my lotion from one of the girls that works at the salon if she's not there i don't buy lol

I am the same way!! I only buy from Cindy!! I am an easy sell you just have to talk to me about the product and I am bringing out the money.

yea that is very true... you are obviously trying to spend your money with them and they aren't having it... kinda sucks but it is THEIR loss (maybe you should tell them to visit us here so they know about these lotions lol)

Anya....Actually I tell other customers about this forum and tell them about different lotions. The other night when I went, this girl was asking about lotions with bronzers and the salon staff told her something that was high priced and not so great. She was also pale white and they pushed this "high octane" stuff on her. I told her about this forum and then told her some things I have heard about here.
You guys have helped me out a bunch, so that I'm not wasting money on stuff that isn't very good. I actually ordered some Brown Envy, and a 2 oz. of black tea. Can't wait to sample some of the recommended items from here!

ive tried many lotions recoomended here, my salon carrries the cal tan and EB lines as well as that matahari stuff... she wanted me to sample that and i refused lol

My old salon would not let you use anything that they dont sell....said it would ruin the acrylic. All they sold was EB products

I since switched salons and the new place is wonderful! The owner actually wants people to try lotions beyond SB and AG and asks customer input about different ones and gets those in to buy. She's even had me look in the supply catalog to let her know what everyone on here is raving about!
