I have now seen several posts about how people don't like this lotion because it is too difficult to rub in....

I just want to let you know that YOU DON'T HAVE TO rub it in completely. Apply evenly over the skin and it's okay if the white of the lotion is still visible. The heat of the tanning unit will "melt" it into your skin. Much easier than rubbing and rubbing and rubbing to get it to disappear.

I really love the butter lotion, and they say u dont have to rub in any (non bronzer of course) lotion totally and just let it melt into your skin.

meltd, I don't recommend using Butter in the summer. It is a bit too thick for comfort in 90 degree heat. and yes it is in a tube like Matahari so make sure you get a key.

It is probably one of the best lotions ever. Excellent color, very moisturizing, wonderful smell... I always went back to this one.

8oz of anything doesn't last me long, much less paying that much for 5 oz.

it's not that expensive for 5 oz that's why i bought it originally. if i have other lotions to rotate then it's not that bad idon't mind as much but if i am using ONE lotion then yes i do mind sometimes cus i go thru 5oz in like 5 or 6 sessions

Butter is awesome! I always wanted a Butter moisturizer..... oh well...

remember you don't have to spend 20 minutes rubbing it in. Yes your skin will look whitish but once you get in the bed, the lotion "melts" onto your skin and the white color is gone. It is an excellent lotion-- it keeps skin very soft and has lots of great ingredients to take care of skin.

I tried Spiked Butter about a week ago and couldn't stand it....it gave great color, but I didn't like the smell (bronzer smell) and the greasiness I felt afterwards. Is the regular Butter any different in smell and results than the Spiked?

I have never used Butter. Actually I am scared to try it because my skin breaks out easily. I have used the Melted Butter years ago and liked it.

I just used the second half of my sample packet of Spiked Butter and it kicked butt...I wasn't sure about it the 1st time I used it a week ago, but this time it made me feel so dark. I jsut got done tanning and can't wait to see what I look like tonight. Is it just me or does anyone else NOT feel the tingle of it. If I don't feel it does that mean I should step up to something else with more of a tingle. I used Spiked Butter on my arms, legs and hands and Dark N' Dazed on my face and neck since you shouldn't use tingles there. I was thinking of using a tingle every 4th time or so that I tan, how does that sound?

I just tried the hot action butter and am kinda letdown, not hot at all

Laurel
05-15-2003, 10:09 AM
Is the hot action butter different than the spiked butter? I know that they both have a tingle but I didn't know if they are one and the same or not.

Greta
05-15-2003, 10:28 AM
if it does have a tingle, it isn't much TO ME, I guess I need em a little stronger.....But that is what I thought when I bought it, so I am assuming it does.

Laurel

That is the way I am with the Spiked Butter...I don't feel a thing, but I like the results ( just not the smell)

KIMMYB

The smell of spiked butter is pretty rank.

njchica

Hot Action Butter has been discontinued and Spiked Butter is now taking it's place. They pretty much are the same product--gelee with Level 5 tingle... the only difference is that the Spiked Butter has a DHA bronzer in it as well which changes the smell somewhat. Personally, I don't think that the tingles in these 2 are hot at all..... I've never really used a "hot" CalTan lotion.

Greta

we need a tingles 101 thread to help us figure out a true scale over the range of all the different products.....

colorgod
05-15-2003, 11:46 AM
Greta, that is right. JA has a very small scale 0-4+, where as Swedish Beauty has 0-25.

Thus a 3 or 4 on a JA scale would be equavialent to the higher ones like 15 or 25 for SB.

I am? Man I must have tanorexia bad! Anyway - the usual - good genes combined with drinking lots of water, good moisturizers, rotate my lotions between tingles, bronzers & basics. I try a lot of lotions to see what works best for me. I don't over do it & wear out my skin - yadda yadda. Sorry, no special tricks here - if ya ask me it all comes down to the genes and taking care of your skin.

Colorgod - sweetie pie love muffin - MUAAAAH - XOXOXOXO

Have you tried Spiked Butter?
