I would change some of the employees. They are high school girls (not a bad thing) that are on the phone constantly! I have even had to wait until they were done with their conversation. And last night they were running around and hitting each other with towels. Now I know they are just having fun (I am the goofiest person around!!) But they are in a work environment, and as soon as you start to neglect your customers it becomes a problem.

I would change the fact that a lot of salons have very snooty stuck up employees... at least the ones by me. I love the salon im going to now, but it's only got 10 beds so there's not much choice in that dept. The selections of lotions is great!

The thing I would change about the salon I go to is the "professionalism" of the staff. They sit around, eating food in front of the customers,go take smoke breaks even when the salon is packed, act like it's an inconvenience to ask about a package or a lotion, and just have a snotty attitude in general. Unfortunately for me, this is the closest salon to me that doesn't require appointments, since I never can schedule anything!

Also, some times I would like to stop in on my way to work (or for a date) and could shower and get redressed with out having the lotion still on me to deal with all day. Sometimes I feel like just taking a break and cooling out for a while after and wished they had a lounge with a tv and a place to enjoy a cool drink before taking off to do what ever I had planned next in my day or evening, depending on what time of day I go to tan. The salon I use has nice people, good choice of lotions and will special order them so I guess I'm a bit spoiled. I work a lot and like to stop in on my way to work or in route after and find I have to go home and start my day all over if I want to tan before work. If I'm squeezing a session in after work, I have to go straight home and shower. A clean roomy place is my preferance and I have this at my place to tan, thank goodnes.

Hi all I work at a local tanning salon. I have been to a few and had the same problems that most of you have had, the rude workers, it just wasn't clean, no lotions. It get's to the point that you just don't want to tan anymore. That is why I started going to the place that I work at now. A friend of mine went there and she loved it. And started making me go with her. I have to say we have on the high end of 25 lotions, and 4 daily moisturizers. I mean when you think about it most people like to try new things. We also have samples (for sale) so that you can try most of them before you buy a bottle. I think the only thing I would change at my work is bring in a few stand up beds. We have 3 different types now the T32 100 watt, T32 160 watt, and the T52 160 watt. We also carry clothing, swim wear, and now body jewelry. We are getting more stuff in all the time. And we take both walk in's and appointment. The only reason that I would not change that is because some people have so much going on they just don't have time to wait and see if they can get in or not and some people just like to drop in. I try to get everyone in but either way at lest with an appointment you know for sure that your going to get in. (at lest at our shop) ohh we also have a play area for the parents or whom ever who have kids. I know it's hard some times you can't always find time with out the kids to go and tan and you can't always find someone to watch them. I wish there were more shope's like the one that I work at because next year I will be moving (my soon to be hubby is going into the Navy) and I just don't want to deal with kids trying to run a store anymore. I wash my salon had some different beds. They have med intensity (very hot) beds and one stand up upgrade, thats it. They have a Magic Tan but that to much $$$ for me.

i wish my tanning salon had more base beds. all the beds they have are VHR lamped beds which the most that one style of bed gives out is 1.6% UVB, I wish they would just put some lower level beds in. but besides that my salon is awesome!

I think what DDBronze said about having a place to enjoy a cool drink and watch TV and lounge around before leaving is a great idea. I know that like 1 out of ev ery 1,000,000 salons could afford this, but its nice to think of . I also wish my salon had an HP such as the orbit/matrix, but don't get me wrong my salon is the best! I think they are getting a stand up unit soon also

I wish my salon had a stand up. I have to go to another salon further from my house when I need to get the hard to reach spots. I would stay at this second spa, but they only have base beds besides the 2 stand ups and I like the HP ones at the other spa better. Guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

Lets see what would I change, .... with my tanning salon ! I would first of all lower the price and have them bring in some newer beds... I'm paid up the the next couple of months, on their so called (Ultra Bronze) and it's not even close to being an ultra tan, it's a SunSport, I would rip down their banner on the outside of their store (Ultra Bronze sold here) until they got the real thing in..... I've been a slave to the salon going 5 times a week for a whole month for "Freckles" .... no tan yet..... a real dissapointment,..... and go figure paid up for unlimited ......

If i could change one thing it would have to be "CUSTOMER SERVICE".I go to my salon every other day and i never see the same people.they fire people,hire new people.My tour of the salon and about the beds,lotions,etc was 5 minutes.I don't like the people that work there,young girls that don't even know about UVA & UVB,can't recommend a lotion,point out a sale.The first thing that i did when i worked at a tanning salon was,the first 5seconds you have to make an impression,say hi,smile,make your clients feel welcome.I don't know,but i love the beds at my salon,so i just give my name and go tan,no "HI" or "BYE" from the people that work there.

My new salon doesn't have a water cooler, they sell drinks but I think you should be able to get a cup of water for free Plus I'd like to see better fans at the end of the beds in this salon, the ones they have don't really serve a purpose becuase I don't feel it!
And I've yet to come across salon workers who were as awesome as the ones at the very first salon I went to, and what is it with salon workers and phones??
