I was reading the Big Bear Bed post, and ran across this term. Just when I think I know stuff about tanning beds, I realize I'm not all that!

I copied this from Desert TAN : "VHR" means Very High Reflective. It means that there is a reflector (shiny metal surface) underneath the lamps. The ultraviolet light bounces off the reflective material and gives you better UVR exposure.
he left that as a resopnse in another topic....
In my experience VHR beds usually are 160watt + stronger and usually have many more bulbs than the usual base line bed.

All VHR beds that I have seen have the bulbs spaced extremely close to each other. VHR bulbs have internal reflectors so they don't depend on external reflectors that some base beds have to do the reflecting work. VHR beds (bulbs) will give you results, that's for sure
