I know you can do it! I wouldn't suggest working out everyday though. Thats what I did at first and I wore myself out. You need at least one day of rest a week so your body can recuperate. Good luck!

Good luck!! And heather is right. Don't work out every day. Atleast take one day off. Or go for a walk on that day if you don't want to get out of your routine.

Are we twins?

For the chronically lazy (myself included), may I recommend "Walk Away the Pounds"? It's really a cool workout and only 18 minutes long.

My apartment has a fitness center too, but the universal cables are broken, the stepper doesn't work, and there's no bike! Having had knee surgery recently, the treadmill isn't a good idea. It's the only thing that works. Wahhhhh!

Way to go, you guys! The hardest part is staying with it. It will become part of your "normal" pattern after 3-4 weeks; that's when you break your psychological barrier.

good luck!!! i hope u stick with it because i know when i started, i have been in better moods and just a lot different person, because it just makes u feel so good about yourself. if u work out anytime between 4-6 days a week, which is what i usually do, and get a program together that u do, it will just become like something u do everyday, like brushing your teeth or taking a bath..if i dont do my workout now, i feel horrible, so once u get in the swing of it, u will love it!! trust me!! hope all goes well..and once again...good luck!!!

congrats! the commitment is hard, but worthwhile. also, make sure you commit to stick with it. there will be tough times. just stick with it. don't give up if it's hard or you skip a workout.

Once you get into it, it should be pretty easy to stick with it! Yay!!!

hehe You don't sound fat to me.
But then I probably sound fat to you.
5'4" and 135 pounds
The Kicker?
I wear a 4/6

Must be muscle.
My routine, if you are interested, is 4 miles of BRISK walking (a mile in 11-13 minutes) 5 days a week, pilates for at least 20 minutes 4 days a week and light weights alternating upper and lower body each week for 2 days a week. I went from a 12 to a 6 in about a year doing this and just keep getting smaller.

good luck! i wish i could commit to something. i used to go to a gym, and i still have a membership there, but i havent been in about three months! i paid a start up cost, and i pay 10 dollars a month because im student, automatically off my credit card. ive gone once or twice, but my school and work schedule is too wierd this semester, and when i CAN go, i usually have errands to run, or im just too tired! im gonna try and commit to it in a few weeks when schools out tho! but...

GOOD LUCK!

You know what sucks! someone went in the gymn and took a knife and was stabbing the workout machine fronts where it tells you whats going on so now the bike, and the stair thing is out of order which just leaves me the treadmill, what the ****, "oh lets be such rebels and go mess up the machines in the gymn giggle giggle, we are so totally cool" im so peeed off, i guess ill have to sign up for a gymn, i know the place im at isnt going to get htat fixed anytime soon because they lag on everything. does anyone know stuff to do at home?? i even woke up early to go to the gymn...someone is going to pay!lol

How hard do people find it to stick to a regular workout routine?

I love to workout, but my problem is finding the time!

That is great Mizzbunay, you can do it. How many weeks do you have until your little reunion? If you stick to diet and exercise for 12 weeks you should be able to get down to your goal weight. For your frame 135 lbs and a good weight for you, but eating healthier and exercising will make you so much happier and you will have more energy throughout the day. And I'm so proud of you, you really need to get rid of the beer and smoking it is no good for you sweetie. You are a young beautiful girl, you don't need that stuff. Good luck with everything!

I am 130 lbs now and 5'4". I haven't worked out in awhile and it doesn't show bad (I am a size 8 ), but I was alot toner when I worked out 3-4 times per week. I also was between 120-125 lbs. I plan on getting back into working out again, but gradually, I know that I cannot do as much weight or exercises like I used to.

Bear in mind that unless you do alot of cardio only, you will only gain muscle which tends to put on a little weight, but its not bad fatty weight, its good weight. Pace yourself and if your muscles feel sore, take a day or even two off until you've recovered, otherwise you could injure yourself.. Cutting out beer is actually the best way to go. I have seen guys who used to drink on the weekends only and now when they cut way back, they lost 10 lbs easily.. Keeping yourself in good shape and eliminating bad habits, although it is hard to do, is the best way to go! Good luck and let us know how it is going..
