i did more searching on the net. looks like a retail of 32,000! holy crap. What does the average salon charge a customer to drop in on one of those?

$20-25 maybe? I've not been in a sunboard, but I have been in a silver bullet and loved it.

I keep hearing the "be careful about burning in this unit" Is it that powerful or not good enough filters??

Anya1976

it's that powerful. most HP units don't have as much uvb in them but this one does... i mean i never burn in the s class, omega, or any other bed, but seriously if it's your first time using that bed don't do the full time. cus u may come out burned. i was red for 2 days after i used the sunboard and if i do by any chance get pink it NEVER lasts more than a day.

$25-30 or less if you buy a bunch of them, the walk-ins are really expensive.

The best! I love it and so do my customers! Very comfortable and relaxing-kind of exciting if you like things "out in the open" : )

woohoo my salon (the location i tan at the most) has it now... it isn't totally put together yet but it should be done by the time i come in for my birthday tan at the end of the week... i can't wait... but on the downside they are taking away our omega bed since we got the sunboard.... i love the omega and i will miss it

is it better than omega?

Anya1976
05-14-2003, 08:41 PM
it has more UVB rays than the omega cus i burned in the sunboard... i tell everyone who hasn't used it to be very careful using the sunboard cus they could burn

Our Sunboard has a 20 minute chip, but I think some have a 15 minute chip standard. I'd recommend starting out 12-15 minutes if you're new to the Sunboard. The Palms in Denver charges $20 for a single session. It's just like you're laying out on the beach...pretty sweet bed.

Does anyone have a picture of it? I forgot what it looks like.

there is a 15 min bed and a 20 min bed from what i heard the 15 min one is just as strong or stronger than the 20 min bed

The Sunboard the absolutely the best tanning bed I have every been in!! Comfortable, open and ultra cool!!THe air conditioned fan blows over your body like the ocean breeze. And as a bonus, an excellent deep dark tan after 2 20min sessions in the same week . Tanned Monday , then Thursday of last week and have not started fading yet!

anyone without a base tan might want to start slow since the sunboard DOES have quite a bit of UVB and you CAN burn in there

I tried the sunboard today and I LOVED it! I can already tell I'm getting great color from it. And it was just so cool to use! I'm still not sure of the difference between HP and regular beds but I sure got more color from the HP!!!

I take it that this is an improved Sunboard (i.e. not the original)? The original gave me NO results, I hope they've improved it. There is a salon nearby that has an original one and NO one uses it.

Laura it is a SUNBOARD XTT. Is that the one you used?

I don't know, it's been a while. But the one in the picture above is a different color. The one I used was silver and gray. I hope they've upgraded it.

Anya1976

well if u got no results from the original then they had bad lamps. cus the first time i ever used the original i burned i had a dark tan already and i burned. there was no way not to get results from it unless the lamps in it were old.

Anya1976

the reason i think it is now 15 mins is because the 20 mins was too long and it was overexposing people. from what i heard from everyone who used it they overexposed at 20 mins

well, there was a thread on here a while back about ppl who had tried the sunboard and got no results from it. the pic above is newer looking. i'd be more than happy to take it for a test drive!
