I heard rumors about soy not being so healthy as the food industry is trying to advertise, so I finally made my research and came across this:
http://creativehealth.netfirms.c om/poison/soyindex.shtml#articles
There are some interesting articles there. Just click on the links. I'm a real big soy products user, i wanted to go vegetarian, so soy milk and tofu and other products were all my favorites, now I'm thinking of just quiting eating soy all together.
What's your opinion?

GOD, that is so scary!! I breastfed my son for the first year of his life, and when I weaned him to a sippy cup, I would fill it with regular milk and he began to have a constant runny nose so the pediatrician said he had a cow's milk allergy and he's been drinking soy milk ever since. He's 12 now and drinks at least an 8 ounce glass of Silk Chocolate Soy Milk A DAY!! I did finally get him to start using Lactaid milk in his cereal, but for his choco fix, he still wants that soy everyday...

I wll have to do more research and seriously reconsider whether I can, with a good conscience, buy this for him anymore.

Thanks for the link.

Yeah..when I drink soymilk, I make sure it's organic.

My neice has been on soymilk since she was born..long story..her mom didn't want to breastfeed, so she did formula right away, and the baby started to throw up, so right away she put her on soy formula. That kid is now 7, and suffers from all sorts of allergies, illnesses, asthma, etc. She is just not healthy, and you've got to wonder if all that soymilk may have had a part in that..

I want to see more "credentials" before drawing any conclusions. And that includes both sides of the argument. We farm at least 44 acres of soybeans on our farm here. So far as them being "altered", most crops are to some extent. They are made more resistant to drought, diseases, etc. So that's not necessarily a bad thing. And yes, we do use pesticides and fertilizers. There's no way we could make a profit by going organic. We also have corn, tobacco, cotton, and I forget what else. Actually, we own two farms. I'm not sure what we have on the other one. I'm pretty sure it's cotton and soy beans. So before I cut off part of our livelyhood, I definately want more info.

That is very disturbing, my last 2 children were on soy formula for a year and I eat a lot of soy products myself and have had some major problems with my cycle

I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat soy at all. There are many other ways to be a vegetarian, and still be healthy while excluding soy from your diet also.

the news is crap...do you ever notice how they never cover stories of good things!?
its all the bad like killers, sickness, accidents

the news should be more positive

I have never eaten anything with soy in my life. Is it good?

I know there is too much negative information around, but honestly, I'd rather know what I eat. I ate a lot of soy too, now I have to reconsider. I haven't had a cycle for 2 years now, I wonder if that's because of soy. Everything used to be so simple when I lived in my home-country, Moldova. Everyting is natural there, when you go to the market, you buy from peasants who come to the city early in the morning, so everything is fresh and real. Now, just think - soy products are human-made, so I'd rather have my coffee with a little skim milk, just to be safer!

I have a 4 month old and she is on Isomil Advance soy with iron. Her doctor put her on it,because she was so fussy and she would go 3 to 4 days without going to the bathroom (poop).
