does your salon use appointments or walk-ins only? would you patronize a salon that used appointments only?

my usual salon does appointments and walk-ins. the freebie i got today was at a salon that does NOT take appointments. i found this rather startling, but it does make perfect sense, since i'm sure ppl don't show up sometimes.

Mine is walk in only and I am glad. It allows me to tan more since I can go at the spur of the moment.

njchica: I am glad you asked this question. I would like to hear peoples comments since I just started this week with walk-ins only. I was doing appointments and it got really crazy, especially when the people showed up late, then we were backed up for the rest of the night. I am going to try it for 2 weeks and so far, customers are really liking it since they can just show up when they want.

One of the salons I use does Walkins only. The other one with the HP beds uses walkins for everything except the HP Beds, you have to have appointments for those.

My salon does both but I usually call ahead and make one.

My salon welcomes both but if you have an appointment and don't show up within ten minutes after your time you have to reschedule or wait for another opening. It works out great, I have never had to wait because of back-ups.

Mine does appointments, but they will do a walk-in if they have an opening. I hate appointments. I'd rather be able to go on the spur of the moment.

My salon is strictly walk in, which can be a hassle, since you can wait forever. I can't handle appointments since I never know what's up with my son, work or other things. I kind of like the walk in option the best, since I can go spur of the moment.

walk-ins only but the wait is never more then 15 minutes so it's always worth the wait.

My salon does both appointments and walk ins. Most of the time I just walk in, but I should start making appointments 'cause it always seems to get busy during the fall.

I work at two salons owned by the same person, one has walk ins only, and one takes both. The one with walk-ins only is doing significantly more business... weird how that goes.

My salon does both, but I don't make appointments. I usually tan on the way home from work, and there is no way of EVER knowing how the traffic's going to be. Sure, I could schedule the appointment for a little later, but then if traffic was fine I'd have to wait, and if I'm waiting, then my poor dog's waiting longer at home to go out. That all said... I like doing the walk-in thing.

my work only has 3 beds, so during the season (feb-may) we ask ppl to call and make an apt to guarentee they will be able to tan in the bed they want and the time they want

My salon prefers to take appointments, but if no one is in either bed and someone walks in wanting to tan she lets them.

My salon takes both, the people with appointments get service first, of course. Sometimes I make an appointment, sometimes i walk-in.

just walk ins at my salon. if they did offer appointments, i wouldn't like it. i usually know what days i like to tan, but as far as time, i go whenever i feel like it. i don't want to be tied down.

My salon doesn't do appointments. They say it causes more problems than it cures. Hey, as long as I can get into a bed, I'm good to go.
