I was shopping at the Gap yesterday. My roommate was trying some stuff on so I was standing there, hanging out. A sales associate walked in with a turquoise shirt and held it up to her face in front of the mirror to see if the color looked good on her. I told her it looked great and it really set off her tan.......
she proceeded to go on and on about how bad tanning is for you, everyone knows it causes cancer , how the salon I tan at doesn't sanitize their beds, how her friend is on bedside due to her entire body being covered in a rash.... then she lifts up her shirt to show me her own personal rash.
It was on her ribcage, localized into one area. Red, raised, and had scabs... It almost looked like shingles... she said that the doctor told her it was either from being allergic to something or from dirty tanning beds. He wasn't sure so she assumed it was from tanning and felt it was her duty, I guess, to tell everyone she knows.
what's up with this? I am going back to the mall later and I would like to set her straight about it or at least tell her not to go around announcing that crap to complete and utter strangers in the store.
