IMO, they may be okay temporarily, but in the long run no diet supplement replaces good diet and excersise(sp?).

it's just going to do what the fat blocker did to people...make your body unable to absorb it so it goes right thru ya, if ya know what I mean! yucky! LOL

Hmmm anything with the name blocker in it doesnt sound to appealing to me if im trying to lose weight. But hey give em a try if there reasonabley priced. I experimented with alot of diet pills till I found a kind that worked for me.

i wouldn't use this either. any pill that can take off pounds is not healthy!!!

I can't find any reviews on it. I even went to some low-carb message boards. The only thing I can seem to find are reviews from the makers of the products...TrimSpa even has one.

I've tried these, the soft chew kind, they sell them at Walmart. Honestly, I didn't notice anything, not sure what I was supposed to notice tho. I don't eat many carbs. My neighbor said she actually gained weight, but she did what I think a lot of people do, which is eat WAY too many carbs, then expect the pill/tablet to suck everything up.
My gut tells me that it's just snake oil, if ykwim. But if you have money to blow, sure, give it a try. Let us know how it works for you!

I read some stuff online about the way those carbblockers work. One woman tested it on herself measuring her blood sugar fisrt after she ate high-carb meal without taking the pill, then she took the pill 15 mins before the meal, and the 3rd time she took the pill during the meal. It seemed like her blood sugar was lower when she took the pill while she was eating. Unfortunately, I don't remember the website address I read this on, but it was an interesting study, it still doesn't convince me too much, cause acid in your stomach should destroy the ingredients in the pill before it absorbs carbs? It's confusing...

Take a look at that ad and you can tell it's a crappy supplement that doesn't work. Even if it does contain the ingredients it says it does(which it probably doesn't) they will be low grade ingredients.
Good supplements are very expensive because they require a lot of research and contain expensive ingredients. The brand of supplements I sell (Advocare) does sell a carbohydrate blocker called SweetEase that actually works. It doesn't actually absorb the carbs or anything, it just inhibits sucrase, amylase, and glucosidase
Don't waste your time with that ebay crap.

Most people leave feedback as soon a the product arrives-- was the item in the condition described, and did it get there quickly? Not so much about does the supplement work.

Once again, this is all a marketing ploy to attract lazy people. The only way someone is going to lose weight like they want is excercise. I eat a high carb diet and 99% of the people out there would say I was crazy if i mentioned losing weight. YOu have to work out if you want to have a nice body, period, the end.

If this pill realy work, they would intervine massivly into the metabolism - and therefore a potentially dangerous drug, what belong in doctorīs hand, for purely medical reasons. Since this "wonder pllls" are apperantly free availibly, without prescription, I think, they are just another not working quak stuff.
MrJoshua ist right - excercising and sensible eating habits are the only way to get a slim figure in the long run. Even "wonder diets" dinīt either do harm (from malnutrition) or are just not really working (some of them have great shor time effect, but you put the weight faste on after it as you have lost it.)

My BF's parents took this...but they also watched what they ate and excersided and lost weight....I don't believe there is any quick or miracle fix for weight loss....the truly only way is diet and exercise...

I can't add much to the above, except that it ain't a good idea to try quick fixes, especially like this.

True yall as a nurse I agree that hard work pays off. Low carb is a dangerous diet anyway.Don't believe me? I am just a nurse, but any doctor or dietition will tell ya too.

The anti-carb thing is so unnatural. I know a lot of people here have had huge success with the Atkins diet, but I just can't get around the nutritional imbalance of the thing. And like any diet, it's longterm success rate is generally poor.

IMO, any diet supplement that works wonders while you sleep is a waste and will cause serious health problems. I know i've said it a million times, but I guess i'll say it again.
I know many people that have gotten the shakes, increased heart rate, etc, just from taking the correct dosage for this pills - work out or not!
The FDA has said Ephedra is not safe in any weight loss pill, and people just cannot accept that fact. Its not safe!!!!

If a pill could do it, then no one would be overweight.

01-27-2004, 07:25 PM
YAY haha thanks for the back up Bonnie, you're right it is unnatural. And YES EPHEDRA is not safe!

you know the bread and cereal group does provide tons of good things for the skin....I think anything should be done in moderation.....I myself am not a fan of any gimick diet that isn't balanced.....you need all the food groups to be healthy
